[To confer the honour of Freedom of Entry on HMS Forward.]

Decision:

1.    That the honour of Freedom of Entry be conferred on HMS Forward in recognition of their services to the City of Wolverhampton.

 

2.    That arrangements be made in due course to celebrate the honour.

Minutes:

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Roger Lawrence, presented the report on Freedom of Entry - HMS Forward. He requested that the Council confer the honour of Freedom of Entry on HMS Forward in recognition of their services to the City of Wolverhampton and that arrangements be made in due course to celebrate the honour.

 

He added that HMS Forward had built firm relations with the City and had regularly visited and presented at the City of Wolverhampton College, as well as attending events at the University of Wolverhampton. The Unit had also engaged with job fairs across the City and at New Cross Hospital to raise awareness and offer part-time job opportunities to the public. HMS Forward also supported many Council led job fair events and employer engagement events in the City. In addition to this, HMS Forward supported military events in the City and parades.

 

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Roger Lawrence proposed the recommendations and Councillor Wendy Thompson seconded the recommendations. Councillor Wendy Thompson echoed the Leader of the Council’s comments and extended thanks to HMS Forward for their valuable work.

 

Resolved:

 

1. That the honour of Freedom of Entry be conferred on HMS Forward in recognition of their services to the City of Wolverhampton.

2. That arrangements be made in due course to celebrate the honour.
