Joanne Till, Markets General Manager, presented a report asking Members to:

 

  1. Approve the draft policy to be presented to Full Council on 5 December 2018 for approval and implementation from 31 January 2019.

 

  1. Note the review that has taken place on the terms of the Statement of Gambling Policy.

 

The Markets General Manager informed Members of an update to the report since it had been published and stated that the draft policy would now be presented to Full Council on 30 January 2019.

 

In response to questions asked, the Markets General Manager clarified the ‘risk assessment mapping tool’ and it was agreed that Members would receive a further report on the progress of FOBTs. 

 

Resolved:

That Members of the Licensing Committee:

 

  1. Approved the draft policy to be presented to Full Council on 30 January 2019 for approval and implementation from 31 January 2019.

 

  1. Noted the review that has taken place on the terms of the Statement of Gambling Policy.

Minutes:

Arif Sain, Head of Equalities, presented a report asking Members to note the progress to date of the Ask Angela initiative.

 

Members welcomed the scheme and suggestions were made on how to develop it further and build on its success. Suggestions included: further advertisement of the scheme via social media and ways to involve the taxi trade.

 

Following the discussions, it was agreed that the initiative would be included in the taxi driver training programme to ensure drivers and operators were aware of the campaign.

That Members of the Licensing Committee noted the progress to date of the Ask Angela initiative.
