[To consider the planning application]

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report regarding 19/00449/FUL - One and a half storey rear extension.

Vijay Kaul, Senior Planning Officer, reported that since the agenda had been published, an amended plan had been submitted removing the proposed side elevation window at ground floor level facing 43 Mount Road. Therefore, the condition referring to obscure glazing was no longer required.

Mrs Chell addressed the Committee and spoke in opposition to the

application.

Vijay Kaul, Senior Planning Officer, responded to the statements made and

confirmed that the proposals were acceptable, as appropriate mitigation measures had been secured by conditions.

Members of the Committee sympathised with Mrs Chell and requested that that the application be modified in order to reduce the negative impact on neighbouring properties.

Vijay Kaul, Senior Planning Officer, responded to the statements made and explained that Members had to consider the application that was before them. He stated that the proposed modifications could not be secured by condition (previous windows installed under permitted development) but agreed to discuss it further with the applicant.

Resolved:

That planning application 19/00449/FUL be granted subject to following conditions:

  • Materials to match existing dwelling
  • Rear elevation first floor window to be obscure glazed (Pilkington Level 4) and non-opening unless more than 1.7m above floor of room
  • Utility room door to be obscure glazed.

Velux windows to be obscure glazed and non-opening unless more than 1.7m above floor of room
