Minutes: An Objection Notice for a Temporary Event Notice in respect of Blossoms Fold, Wolverhampton City Centre, WV1 1RD & North Street, Wolverhampton City Centre, WV1 1RE had been received from West Midlands Police.
The Chair led round-table introductions and outlined the procedure to be followed. He reported that prior to the Hearing, West Midlands Police had submitted a request asking for the Hearing to be adjourned to a future date. The Chair outlined the reasons for the request and sought legal advice on the matter.
Robert Marshall, Solicitor and legal advisor to the Sub- Committee stated that Regulation 11 of the Licensing Act (Hearings) Regulations 2005 provided that an authority could extend a time period for a specified period where it considered it to be necessary in the public interest.
The Statutory Licensing Sub-Committee considered the Police’s request to adjourn the Hearing and decided that it would be in the public interest to grant the request.
Resolved: That the Hearing be adjourned, and the Statutory Licensing Sub-Committee would re-convene on Wednesday 26 February 2020 at 10am.
