War Memorial Restoration, Oxford Street, Bilston

To mark the centenary of the First World War, a group of local residents have come together to form Bilston Remembered, a community interest group. The group’s aim is to secure the restoration of the Oxford Street war memorial in Bilston town centre.

In order to facilitate the restoration of the war memorial, authorisation is to be sought for the Council to act as the accountable body for the group, with a budget allocation of £46,000 for the disbursement of payments to contractors. On completion of the restoration, the budget will be reimbursed with grant aid from the War Memorials Trust and funds raised by Bilston Remembered.
