The Council has a statutory duty to provide accommodation to persons under 18 years to prevent homelessness. In addition to this, the Council has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare and health of young people. To fulfil these statutory duties, the Council and following a comprehensive consultation exercise a new service model was approved to deliver: lot 1: Young Persons’ Supported Accommodation and Outreach Service; and lot 2: Young Families Supported Accommodation and Outreach Service.
1. Approved the awards the contract for Young Persons’ Supported Accommodation and Outreach services (Lot 1) to Accord Housing Association of 178 Birmingham Road West Bromwich West Midlands B70 6QG for a duration up to five years (three years with possible two-year extension) from 1December 2019 to 30 November 2024 for an estimated total contract value of £2,665,000.
2. Noted an extension for the Young Families Supported Accommodation and Outreach service (Lot 2) from 01 December 2019 to 07 December 2020 for the value of approximately £53,000 to allow for a market analysis and engagement ahead of a potential retendering of the service.
