Councillor Ian Brookfield

Minutes:

Councillor Stephen Simkins was saddened to announce the death of the Leader of the City of Wolverhampton Council, Councillor Ian Brookfield who passed away on Sunday 2 July 2023 after a fearless battle with cancer.

 

Cabinet (Resources) Panel stood in silent tribute to the late Councillor Ian Brookfield.

Decision:

That authority be delegated to the Cabinet Member for Adults and Wellbeing in consultation with the Director of Public Health, to approve the award of a contract and allocation of the budget of £569,000 per annum for Voluntary and Community Services - delivering Our City, Our Plan when the evaluation process is complete.

Minutes:

Councillor Obaida Ahmed presented the report on the latest procurement activity coming forward this month for approval from Public Health. The procurement. The contract would ensure opportunities for local voluntary and community sector organisations and would support delivery of the Council’s Our City: Our Plan priorities.

 

Resolved:

That authority be delegated to the Cabinet Member for Adults and Wellbeing in consultation with the Director of Public Health, to approve the award of a contract and allocation of the budget of £569,000 per annum for Voluntary and Community Services - delivering Our City, Our Plan when the evaluation process is complete.

LEP Gainshare monies for Digital Innovation purposes pdf icon PDF 92 KB

Decision:

1.      That authority be delegated to the Cabinet Member for Resources and Digital, in consultation with Director of Strategy and Director of Finance to:

 

a.   Approve allocation of Gainshare funding to support the digital innovation priority of the Digital Wolverhampton Strategy as a proof-of-concept fund.

b.      Authorise the Council to enter into a Collaboration Agreement with Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council as accountable body for Gainshare funding.

c.      Approve the establishment and spend within the Digital Infrastructure budget in line with the Collaboration Agreement.

d.      Approve further changes to support our smart city ambitions.

Councillor Obaida Ahmed presented the report seeking approval to use the Council’s allocation of Local Enterprise Partnership Gainshare monies to support the digital innovation priority of the Digital Wolverhampton Strategy, in particular to transform delivery of services and develop new applications to unlock potential.

 

Resolved:

1.    That authority be delegated to the Cabinet Member for Resources and Digital, in consultation with Director of Strategy and Director of Finance to:

Procurement - Award of Contracts for Works, Goods and Services

[To approve the award of contracts for works, goods and services]

Decision:

1.      That  the contract for NHS Support (Maternity and 0-19 Service) to the Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme be awarded to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust of Wolverhampton Road, Heath Town, Wolverhampton, WV10 0QP for a duration of two years from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2025 for a total contract value of 691,783.

 

2.      That lot one of the contract with The Haven Wolverhampton of 18 Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4BL for services for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse be varied with a variation value of £19,984.40 per annum.

 

3.      That lot two of the contract with The Haven Wolverhampton of 18 Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4BL for services for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse be varied with a variation value of £7,763.40 per annum.

 

4.      That lot three of the contract with St Georges Hub of St Mark’s Rd, Wolverhampton, WV3 0QH for services for male victims of domestic abuse be varied with a variation value of £3,375 in year six and £4,370 in year seven.

 

5.      That the exemptions to the Contract Procedure Rules approved by the Head of Procurement and Director of Finance from 1 to 31 May 2023 be noted.
