1.     Concluded the Restart Scheme at the end of December 2021 which has been in place since April 2021

2.     Replaced the EU match funding from the AIM for GOLD Business Programme grant with ARG of funds of £120,000

3.     Expanded the Relight Business Programme grant with additional funds of £295,000 from ARG to support independent retailers and help businesses across the city to invest in low carbon and other environmental measures

4.     Increased the Covid safe grant that is administered through the ARG application process but is funded from Public Health Covid Compliance budget from  £1,000 per applicant up to a max of £2,000, to support businesses during the busier festive season.

22/12/2021 - Business & Enterprise Hub: IGNITE ref: 7016    Recommendations Approved

To approve the establishment of a business and enterprise hub in the city, including leasing and running costs of the premises for an initial period of 2 years. It will also cover the costs of the initial refurbishment and fit-out, project management (up to September 2022) and the employment of operational staff, market development and programme development and delivery for an initial period of 12 months before an application to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Decision:

1.     In line with this delegation, approval is sought to an additional virement of £125,000 from the Covid Emergency Grant and / or Recovery Reserve to the initial revenue budget of £300,000 that was approved in August 2021 to support the establishment of a business and enterprise hub in the city. The reasons for the requirement for the additional funding are explained in the report.

2.     Authorised Wolverhampton City Council to enter; an agreement with The University of Wolverhampton and the Black Country Chamber of commerce, and any ancillary agreements to facilitate this project.

20/12/2021 - Supply of Wheelchair Accessible Minibuses ref: 6639    Recommendations Approved

CWC requires urgent replacement of its fleet of 24 passenger carrying fleet vehicles operated by its Travel Unit. The current fleet of 24 vehicles has gone beyond its life expectancy and is in urgent need of replacement.
In addition to the immediate purchase requirement of 24 vehicles, a further 15 vehicles may be purchased in the future. These additional purchases will be dependent on the outcome of service reviews that are currently underway. CWC will advertise this additional requirement now so as not to have to undertake and repeat this procurement exercise should the additional vehicles be required and subject to capital budget funding be available.
The replacement vehicles are required to provide suitable assisted transport for passengers with special educational needs and disabilities, both children and adults.
